No experience required! We have two options planned: one for our novice and young backpackers which is an easy 3-mile hike in to a trail shelter where we will camp for the night. There is an optional side hike to a cool waterfall. Our older backpackers and those preparing for Philmont this summer will hike a little farther, about 6.5 miles, and they will either stay overnight at the shelter or tent camp nearby along a creek. Tuesday night’s meeting program will be on backpacking – the proper way to choose and pack your gear, led by Mr. Cheers. This should be a really cool trip.
