August program: Backpacking
It’s an amazing way to have an adventure. Load up your gear into a pack on your back and set out for the wilderness. Lots of fun. Lots of learning. A chance to see things that most people won’t.
Tonight, we will begin preparing our scouts for a backpacking trip later this month. At tonight’s meeting, we will learn about gear – what to bring and what to leave home, and the right way to pack and carry it. We will also learn about first aid on the trail.
